Experts from Israel Will Conduct a Workshop on “Agricultural Policy” in Yerevan

2The RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan received the delegation of Israeli experts, comprising Dr. Efrat Hadas from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Israel and Dr. Yoav Gal, an agriculture expert and consultant of “Bina” consulting firm.

 

The delegation will conduct a training course on “Agricultural policy” from March 14-19 within the framework of “Armenia Policies for Growth (APG) Program” by USAID-funded “Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development by the Agency for International Development» (CARD) Fund and “AVAG Solutions Ltd”.

 

“Israel’s rich experience in the field of agriculture, which is based on the latest scientific innovations, is very important for our country. I am convinced that this course will be very interesting and useful for all the participants “, Sergo Karapetyan said, welcoming the guests.

 

Highly appreciating the Armenian-Israeli cooperation in agriculture, the Minister also stressed that there is great unrealized potential between the two countries in this field, and if we use that potential it will be possible to achieve great results.

 

The meeting participants briefed the Minister on the main topics and methodology of the training and stressed that the main emphasis will be on making the agricultural policy and its application in practice maximum closer to each other. 

 

Expressing confidence that the lectures will be continued and will include a wide range of interested persons, the Minister wished the participants success and productive work.

 

In addition to the training program it is expected to provide advice and assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture in policy development, value chain development and other areas, as well as organize seminars and meetings with the heads of relevant departments.
